Nobu Hotel Palo Alto's multimillion-dollar redesign is sure to dazzle.

Multimillion-dollar renovations at Larry Ellison’s Nobu Hotel Palo Alto should leave it fit for a king (or queen) of industry by 2020. Using a Japanese aesthetic, Montalba Architects of Santa Monica is freshening the 73 rooms, the exterior, the reception area and meeting rooms of the building once known as Casa Olga (a retirement home) and then an Epiphany hotel.

Updates will include a two-story Nobu restaurant (thanks to space once occupied by Stanford Florists); a 24-hour room service menu; and rooms with 82-inch TV screens, Alexa smart commands technology, floor-to-ceiling windows and doors with motorized blackout shades, among other things. Midweek from $699 per night, weekends from $399 per night, 180 Hamilton Ave., 650.666.3311
