Tommy Hilfiger is no stranger to big collaborations. From '90s musicians to Gigi Hadid and contemporary brands like Hypebeast, the Tommy label is a clothing staple for the modern era, and every collab drop is an incredibly exciting time for fashionistas everywhere.
If you can’t already tell where this is going, Hilfiger just announced a new collaboration with Tommy Jeans and the streetwear brand AAPE by A Bathing Ape. It’s their second such collaboration with the hip Japanese outfitter, and it centers around cool outerwear for the cold winter ahead.

Featuring parkas, jean jackets and windbreakers, there are plenty of options to wrap yourself in and stay warm. The drop hits shelves on Friday, Thurs. 14, but Hilfiger has already released promotional materials, including videos straight from the streets of New York.

To be expected, the collab features motifs from both brands. Promising “streetwear style” with “iconic street prep,” the clothing mixes several symbols—including the standard red, white and blue Tommy badge—with Bathing Ape’s “Moon Face.” You can also expect AAPE’s camo motif mixed with the Hilfiger plaid, and plenty of large labels to assure onlookers that, yes, this is that jacket they saw in the latest Vogue.
The drop features large outwear like jackets and sweaters, as well as smaller accessories, like beanies and even skateboards. Highlights include a plaid green flannel backdropped by floral patterns, both white and green caps with the label on top, monochrome sweatshirts with the symbol prominently featured, and the Tommy Jeans classic: a fleece-lined jean jacket perfect for dates and nights on the town.
Also noteworthy are the denim overalls with labelled straps and the symbol on the breast pocket; as well as a delightful ski jacket splashed in red and blue camouflage.

As is the standard, Tommy Jeans released a drop video for the collab, focusing on the “street” of “streetwear.” According to Complex, the documentary follows real-life NYC skateboarders Lucinda Johnson, Kyota Umeki, Hank Korsan and Brandon Scott James as they work their way through the neighborhood streets, flashing the labels on both their boards and their heads.
Hilfiger and AAPE previously released a summertime collaboration in July 2020, featuring t-shirts, shorts, sneakers and hats.
Tommy Hilfiger has stayed pretty busy lately. The label’s Fall 2021 “Pass the Mic” campaign was a huge success, starring musicians Jack Harlow, Anthony Ramos and DJ Cassidy. As the AAPE collaboration continues, one can only hope there’s more on the horizon.
The collection hits both the AAPE and Hilfiger websites on Friday, Jan. 14, and will also be available in several in-person stores. Get bundled up, and stay cool with this cool collab.
