The Miami Boat Show, one of the country’s most illustrious maritime events for sea-loving bons vivants, docks in town this month drawing in over 1,400 vessels and an expected crowd of nearly 100,000 visitors ready to join the festivities.

Sustainability and a commitment to keeping waters clean continue to be a focus with a conservation village experience sponsored by Costa Sunglasses as well as a sponsored Kick Plastic program that provides reusable water bottles and fill stations throughout the event. In fact, the show has tapped James Beard Award-winning chef Allen Susser (of Chef Allen’s and The Café at Books & Books fame) to perform special sustainable seafood programming through classes and cooking demos. Multiple park-and-ride locations that deliver water taxi and shuttle-bus transfer to the show will also trim emissions.

As far as standout vessels to get a look at, Azimuth’s new Verve 40 and Atlantis 45 yachts from the builder’s shipyards in Italy will be two hot boats in the bunch. The Verve 40 is the maker’s first outboard weekender vessel, while the Atlantis is more of a two-cabin day runner with plenty of deck and sunspace. A VIP experience, sponsored by Porsche, gets you the best dockside viewing of the show and access to an exclusive air-conditioned VIP lounge with complimentary food, drink, Wi-Fi and entertainment to use as your floating headquarters.
