Rich in history, architectural details and photo-worthy vignettes, The Candler Hotel (the newest haunt to open under the Curio Collection by Hilton) is an obvious choice for Atlantans seeking a new staycation spot. Nestled in Downtown Atlanta, the historic 17-story building was completed in 1906 for former Atlanta Mayor and The Coca-Cola Company founder Asa Griggs Candler. Today, its original brass mailbox fixtures, Tiffany & Co. windows and grand Amicalola marble staircase add to the allure of the landmark that’s been reimagined as a hotel with the help of interior design firm NICOLEHOLLIS. Think marble, brass and custom oak parquet wood floors as an ode to the South; plus, white walls, paneled trim, custom Swavelle floral drapery and custom HB Lighting chandeliers, pendants and more. (The Candler Hotel is also the first hotel in the U.S. to offer Balmain toiletries in each of its 265 rooms, which includes 34 suites.) Adding to the endless list of luxe offerings is the property’s on-site restaurant, By George. Designed by Beck Design Group, the resto dishes out French-inspired staples with a Southern twist in partnership with celebrity chef and two-time James Beard Award winner Hugh Acheson. Soon, the building’s original vault—rumored to have once housed the Coca-Cola formula—will transform into a private dining room for Atlanta’s most distinguished guests. 127 Peachtree St. NE, curiocollection3.hilton.com
