Scottsdale Based Cullum Homes Awarded National Custom Homebuilder of the Year

Scottsdale Based Cullum Homes Awarded National Custom Homebuilder of the Year

March 18, 2020 by

Lauren Swanson-Tyda Lauren Swanson-Tyda

Scottsdale-based Cullum Homes—recently named national custom homebuilder of the year by the National Association of Home Builders—is including “car bars” in their new builds. These opulent basements come equipped with wet bars, plenty of seating, entertainment areas and glass-enclosed displays with platforms that allow owners to showcase prized cars from their collections. Buyers are also requesting next-level features like whole-home automation, solar power walls, electric car plug-ins, temperature-controlled wine storage, biometric access controls (think: fingerprint and facial recognition) and interactive show kitchens. “But sometimes it’s about the simple things,” says Rod Cullum, CEO of Cullum Homes. “They want clean, quiet and comfortable homes situated in premier locations that offer luxury amenities, privacy and security,” Cullum says. “Our buyers are trending toward homes that offer a smaller footprint, but still incorporate the luxury features, energy efficiency and ease of upkeep.”
