Ricci Lopez-Hammargren Discusses Fashion, His Inspirations and Successes

Ricci Lopez-Hammargren Discusses Fashion, His Inspirations and Successes

April 7, 2020 by

Emmy Kasten Emmy Kasten

Whether he is dressing himself for a casual night out or outfitting a client for a black-tie event, the VP of sales and general manager for Stitched (and third-generation Las Vegan) skillfully applies his keen eye for fashion.

What was your first job in fashion? Guess Jeans at The Forum Shops when I was a junior in high school.

Have you always been interested in the industry? Yes. I grew up on stage as an actor and a singer. At a very young age, I was really inspired by the reaction you get from what you are wearing.

I am obsessed with... Turtlenecks. They’ve made a huge comeback.

In order of importance, what are the top three staples in a man’s wardrobe? Great shoes, a nice watch and a great tailored sport coat.

What are some fashion rules you wish everyone would follow? Your belt and your shoes need to be the same color. Also, if you’re wearing a sport coat or a suit, you need to complete it with a pocket square. There’s a reason why the pocket is there. It’s a man’s chance to spice up their look.

I am inspired by... Halston. He was a perfectionist and a genius.

Fragrance, yes or no? I started buying designer fragrance when I was in fifth grade. Scent is my thing. Thierry Mugler Angel, Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb, Creed Aventus and Tom Ford Black Orchid are in my rotation right now.

In the next year, I want to… get back to my singing roots. It’s in my genes. My mom’s a performer and my dad’s a musician. It’s burning inside of me.
