Now in its third generation, Porsche’s Cayenne SUV has been a huge success for the automaker. Since its introduction in 2002, more than 864,200 Cayennes have been delivered.

Realizing that Porsche customers value exclusivity and individuality, the maker has created a new high-performance variant, the Cayenne Turbo Coupe. This low-slung four-door offers higher levels of performance and more dynamic styling than the traditional Cayenne while retaining its luxe, high-tech interior. From $130,100, porsche.com/us

Design Details

Roofline
You can tell the Cayenne Coupe apart from its more pedestrian siblings by looking at its roofline, which tapers sensuously down in the same manner as the Porsche 911 Coupe and Panamera.

Power Plant
A 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 cranks out 541 horsepower and 568 foot-pounds of torque, which, when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package, propels the Cayenne Turbo Coupe from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

Brakes
The vehicle’s optional Ceramic Composite Brake package, with brakes weighing half as much as cast-iron disc brakes, ensures fade-free performance and enhanced driving dynamics.

Rear Spoiler
The Cayenne Coupe’s distinctive shape is accentuated by this rear spoiler, which automatically extends at around 55 mph, thereby increasing rear downforce.

Headlamps
Based on driving characteristics and steering angle, the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus swivels the low beams and automatically increases beam saturation and distance at sustained faster speeds, with even more dynamic light distribution in Sport mode.

Plus...

• The Cayenne Coupe comes standard with seating for four, though a no-cost option allows for three seat belts across the rear bench.

• A standard panoramic roof brings the outside in, but if you’re looking to maximize performance, you can opt for the Lightweight Sport Package, which includes this fixed carbon fiber roof to cut weight.

• Porsche fans will not be disappointed by the vehicle’s classic analog tachometer center stage on the dash, surrounded by a bevy of up-to-date digital display areas.
