Five years after launching as a pilot program in Atlanta in late 2017, the vehicle subscription and rental service has grown to 18 dealers in 15 U.S. cities. With three different plans—single or multivehicle subscription and rental—the service puts the complete lineup of models at your fingertips, all through the Porsche Drive app and all subscriptions with the brand’s signature white-glove service, including vehicle delivery within a 20-mile radius of the participating dealer.
The program’s app makes scheduling delivery and pickup a breeze.
It’s no wonder that Porsche Drive has thrived even as similar programs from other car brands have stalled. The reason is simple, says Kjell Gruner, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America Inc. “It’s the power of the brand. Whether it’s a 911 or a Taycan, there is nothing quite like the thrill of driving a Porsche.” Noting that 80% of Porsche Drive customers are new to Porsche, he adds, “Today more than ever, consumers increasingly want flexibility and individual choice, and to have this accessible on their mobile devices. Porsche Drive gives customers this choice, when and where they want it, making it a great new way to experience Porsche in addition to leasing or purchasing. And, last but not least, the personal touch is even greater because the program is run by local Porsche dealers who know how to build a relationship with the customer.”
