Occasionally, the luxury goods realm affords you the opportunity to buy the best while doing some good in the world. Polen is the creation of María Teresa González, a Venezuelan artist and designer looking to produce quality, handmade textiles while benefiting workers and helping the homeless.
A guy can wrap his mattress in Polen’s handmade bedclothes, while his money passes on to organizations in the Americas working with homeless people. González designs all of the pieces herself, looking to produce quality linens while supporting skilled makers.
“Our mission is to provide people with a fair chance at life,” González says. “This chain is held together by our products, which pass from the hands of the designer, to the hands of the creator, to the hands of the consumer, and thus offer a hand to those we aim to help.”
The end results are product that would class up any gentleman’s bedchamber while they do some good far, far away. The top of the Polen line features a cover set for $185 and a quilt set in $198. wearepolen.com
