As a gentleman who travels frequently, I enjoy quality time doing things that make me feel like the best version of myself. Here are a few of my favorite places in Scottsdale that allow me to continue to improve upon my mental and physical self. Berdenas
This is hands down the best coffee shop in Scottsdale. Quaint and cozy, Jonathon is a maestro at his craft and has perfected the art of Costa Rican coffee and transplanted it from San Jose, CR to Old Town. I’ll grab a hot mocha, the best avocado toast anywhere within 4 states, and take time for myself to gather my morning thoughts. From their Honey Lavender Latte to their homemade pastries, their passion is felt in every detail. This is a must start to your day.
The Manner Barbershop
This is the crème de la crème of barbershops. The hip artwork, stylish vibe, and eclectic music is home to the most talented barbers I have used anywhere around the world. At any given time, you will see the chairs filled with major league athletes, global entertainers, the who’s who of local businessmen, and young aspiring gentlemen who take their hair game as serious as their shoe collection. As I compose this piece of praise from Las Vegas, founder and owner Edgar Ayala just left my suite and boarded a flight back to Phoenix as he made a last-minute trip last night to come and cut my hair for a special event. Unlike most barbershops who may have one quality barber, this place is jammed with talent. From Edgar to Joe, to Cisco, I guarantee you will leave feeling and looking like a Rockstar.
We Do Men
As I grow older, I understand, appreciate, and respect how important skincare is, especially spending many of my days in the Southwest sun. Self-care begins with skincare and there is no better place or person that drives this home more than Stacey, owner and founder of We Do Men in Scottsdale. “Boss Lady Stace” has a unique menu of skincare treatments, catering to the most discerning men. An educator herself in the skincare space, she carries the highest quality of products and takes her time to familiarize each of her clients as to what is best for their specific needs. She is by appointment only and books up quickly, so if you’re not aging as gracefully as you like, be sure to call sooner than later.
Suit Supply
I’m quite confident many men will agree; any addition to your suit collection is as therapeutic as a perfect day on a tropical island. While my extensive suit collection does include a few of their lines, that’s not what this blurb is about. I thoroughly enjoy the look and feel of a new crisp shirt under one of my many suits. Nothing like grabbing one, two, or five new Traveller Shirts from Suit Supply to keep my friends in a constant state of wardrobe envy.
Rosa’s Alterations
In a small, quiet, humble shop around Scottsdale and Shea, you will find Rosa’s Alterations. Robert is a rare, extraordinary talent who takes the time to understand and cater to your tailoring needs. Robert is my main go-to when I need something done right the first time, or when I’m in a last-minute pinch. As an expert, seasoned tailor, Robert will remember your style without having to reiterate your alteration preferences each and every time.
Sanctuary/Mountain Shadows
Plain and simple, these are my go-to personal getaways for a relaxing staycation. At either of these amazing resorts in Paradise Valley, I am able to turn off the “noise” of normal life and re-center myself through spa treatments, quiet mediation time along Camelback Mountain, and healthy cuisine delivered directly to my villa as I basque in the solitude of a perfect home away from home.
