New Leaf Custom Homes (newleafcustom.com) has found a way to streamline the building process. For co-founder Melissa Powell, the solution was providing clients with everything they need under a single roof. “Launching an in-house design studio makes the experience seamless,” she says. “With construction and architecture services already in place, adding interior design completed the trifecta.”

Under the helm of lead designer Samantha Bailey, the full-service studio provides everything from floor plans and interior drawings to lighting, furniture and styling. A comprehensive Design Plan (iPlan, for short) is available for review before building ever begins. “In the luxury arena, we’re designing to a customer’s exact specifications, from see-through fireplaces to floating stairs with glass paneling,” Powell says. More dramatic kitchens are also trending: “It’s all about adding a touch of the unexpected.”

Results have been so impressive, the studio now services outside clients and other custom builders. “We give them everything that’s included in the typical New Leaf design package, just minus the build.”
