When Celtics player Jaylen Brown admits with a smile that the craziest thing he’s ever done is break into a church, Heather Walker, the public relations director for the team, raises her brows and questions if perhaps he’d like to give a different answer. But he continues and explains that he did it because there was a basketball gym in the basement and he liked to practice at night, after the church was closed. Spend more than five minutes with Brown and stories like this one and the one where he snuck into Virgil Abloh’s inaugural show for Louis Vuitton keep coming, and you quickly realize it’s not just his style that’s unique. He’s curious, smart, introspective, kind and filled with good intentions. He recently re-signed with the C’s, guaranteeing his green jersey through the 2023-2024 season. But rest assured that off the court, you’ll catch him sporting designer duds from Human Made, Bape, Pyer Moss and Virgil Abloh. And what will stand out even more than his well-appointed outfit is his smile?

The best advice I ever got was confidence is the key to success.

My motto is: faith, consistency and hard work pays off.

The first item of clothing that I bought for myself was a pair of all-white Air Force 1s.

I would love to learn more about myself.

My earliest style memory is choosing my first day of school outfit.

My greatest achievement is telling my mom that she can stop working.

My most trusted possession is a necklace I have that commemorates a friend of mine who passed away. When I wear it, I feel like I have superpowers.

I don’t think fashion faux pas exist. Fashion is an expression of yourself, and if you wear things confidently, it looks good. I want to encourage more people, especially youth, to be different rather than trying to just fit in.
