At only 29 years old, Myles Joseph Hasnain has made his mark on the world of fashion in myriad ways. The Del Mar resident, by way of Toronto, honed his chops at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where he majored in fashion journalism before catching his first big break co-producing the second annual San Francisco Fashion Awards. Internships in New York City followed, which culminated in a position as a fashion assistant for Vice magazine (now Vice Media). “It was there that I found my love of styling and made career-long connections to showrooms and fashion houses that I still utilize today,” says Hasnain.

Styling for editorial shoots, music videos and a handful of private clients ensued before he returned to the West Coast as a creative coordinator for Ralph Lauren. “It was throughout this time that I started to build a client base for personal styling,” he reveals. And how fruitful that client base has been. Fast-forward to 2020, and Hasnain is now the proud owner of MJH Studios in Del Mar. “Part personal styling showroom and part designer boutique, it’s the culmination of all of my experiences. From styling to retail design, opening MJH Studios was the perfect opportunity to share my point of view,” he says. It’s there shoppers will find Hasnain’s careful curation of apparel for him and her from brands like Gucci, Saint Laurent, Tom Ford and more. “I wanted to bring something new and fresh to San Diego. I designed the store with a modern and open atmosphere to host clients for styling services while presenting the closet of an industry insider as a shoppable experience.”

The boutique has also allowed Hasnain to give back. “I’ve been able to provide services and donations on behalf of MJH Studios to great organizations like NuVasive Spine Foundation and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation,” he shares. “I’m also passionate about helping displaced LGBTQ+ youth and hope to use my platform to make sure they have the resources they need to thrive.” When he’s not clocked in, Hasnain can be found spending time with his boyfriend and pup, taking hikes in the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Extension, or grabbing dinner and drinks at hot spots like South Park’s Kindred. Up next, Hasnain hopes to host events and fashion shows at MJH Studios while continuing to expand his online store. Here, the go-getter gives us a glimpse of his well-styled life.

9:30 a.m. Morning Rituals: “My day doesn’t officially start until I’ve had a cold brew and fresh-pressed juice from Beaming in Del Mar. I usually order the Pure Green juice or the D-Tox if I need to re-energize from the weekend.”

11:30 a.m. R&R: “When it’s time to unwind, no place is better than Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa. Being on my feet all day, I always choose The Focused Five, which concentrates on your hands, feet, head, neck and shoulders.” From $200, Rancho Santa Fe

1 p.m. Lunch Break “My favorite place for a healthy lunch is Flower Child in Del Mar. On a sunny day, you can catch me on the outside patio enjoying its on-tap kombucha and eating the Thai Dye wrap.”

2:30 p.m. Home Goods “I usually love to shop after lunch, but it’s hard to look further than my own store and showroom for must-have pieces. Recently, I couldn’t help but take home Saint Laurent’s Jungle shirt for myself!”

3:30 p.m. In the Saddle “Running a new business, it’s sometimes hard to get myself to a gym. My Peloton bike is perfect for an at-home workout.”

7 p.m. Out on the Town “Without a doubt, Kindred in South Park is one of my favorite places to bring out-of-town friends for dinner and drinks. It has the best vegan food in the city (the Palm tacos are a must-have) and killer cocktails (try the Dream Reaper).”
