Being the Founder and President of such a renowned Hospitality group, one must always bring their A-game which includes eating right to keep fit and healthy, having curated style and dressing the part. This is how John Meadow keeps looking fresh and eating right.
Shoes
I have my shoes custom made by Stefano Bemer. The owner, Tommaso Melani is a dear friend, and has a showroom on 67th and Madison, and makes the shoes at his atelier in Florence. With hand-worked leathers and full bespoke services, shoemaking does not get any more artisanal than Bemer. Tommaso’s family has been at the apex of the Florentine leather trade for decades as the owners of La Scuola di Cuoio. He acquired the Bemer brand and then also recently acquired the iconic Florentine tailor house, Sartoria Vestrucci, which he also offers at this New York showroom. It is the ultimate escape to Florence, right in the heart of the Upper East Side.
Barber
I am very grateful and loyal for the relationship with my barber and friend Emanuele Liccardo, the head barber, at Fellow Barber in Chelsea Market. He oversees an intimate shop, where I go weekly for an old fashioned shave, trim, and most of all chit chat/therapy session with Emanuele. There is no better person to confide in than a great barber. After our Friday session, we go to have an espresso downstairs at Buon Italia, which we happen to buy a lot of our imported products for Scarpetta.
Delivered Health Food
I have been a friend and customer of Sakara since Danielle Dubois started it over a decade ago. Sakara offers a variety of healthy delivery options, and my wife and I routinely will go on a week-long Sakara diet, to get out of my restaurant routine. It is favorable food yet healthy, and the brand overall is motivating and makes me want to aspire to a more holistic yet equally indulgent lifestyle.
Vintage Store
My favorite store in NYC is Front Street General Store. It is an immaculately curated vintage store in Dumbo, offering an eclectic range of homewares, jewelry and my favorite military pieces. I have bought countless pairs of American service sunglasses from the ‘60s and ‘70s there as well as my go-to M-15 field jacket.
