With more than 30 events being hosted by Palm Beach Symphony in a span of just a few short months, I am constantly on the run both figuratively and physically. Along with ensuring that the Symphony doesn’t miss a beat, I am active in the community through board memberships, attending chamber breakfasts at The Breakers and enjoying other community galas throughout the season. With such a hectic and very compressed season, it’s vitally important that I find ways to stay balanced as well as styled.
I try to maintain my best self by staying fit both mentally and physically. I strive to stay balanced by meditating each morning with help from the app Headspace and then I tend to get my daily vitamin of motivation and positivity by listening to John Maxwell's Minute with Maxwell following my morning workout and meditation. Additionally, as a triathlete that just competed in Florida Iron Man, I like to run, bike, and swim in the mornings. I’ll also surf if the waves and time permits throughout the week. With others, I enjoy playing golf and tennis and use PGA Certified Golf Instructor Ted Strelec for tune-ups with golf lessons because, as we all know, golf can be an excellent way to foster relationships.
As someone that is literally running all over Palm Beach, I need to have my GUCCI and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes maintained by Victor at Sparkles. His two locations, in Palm Beach across from Echo and in West Palm Beach on Clematis, are both excellent for polishing and re-soling shoes.
Along with my meditation, to keep in the right headspace, I like to listen to business or motivational books and podcasts while I’m in the midst of my training or while in the car driving to work.
Although I don't belong to a gym, I have one in my clubhouse that I use regularly. As a triathlete, I am usually running, biking, swimming, surfing, playing tennis or lifting weights during the entire week. For a nice change of pace, I absolutely love Bikram Yoga at Hot Yoga Jupiter.
The CEO of the Symphony must look the part. For this, I work with Marcos Vallecilo at Marcos in West Palm Beach for all of my alterations. He is quick, reasonably priced and provides excellent work and service.
On the note of staying well dressed, I work with Carlos Amorin Palm Beach for my custom suits. He is wonderful! But what is a nice outfit without the hair to match? For my hair styling and cuts, I work with Junior at Junior's Barber Shop in Jupiter or at Shirley at Lotus Hair on Palm Beach.
While I like to keep fit both mentally and physically, sometimes I need a bit of help. For assistance, I work with Julio Cabrera as my personal trainer and physical therapist. He trained me for the Florida Ironman as well as treated me when I ripped my calf muscle eight weeks before the race. He's an incredible trainer that assists me with maintaining physical and mental balance as he inspires me to stretch beyond my perceived limitations and comfort zones.
As a busy man of means I need to have these people, places, and products to help me be my best self, and lead the Palm Beach Symphony to the best of my ability.
