As a father and a DJ, Matt Roan needs to keep healthy and looking good to endure his life in Chicago. Here are the people and places he uses to stay fresh and clear-headed.
Naturally I’m a big fan of my co-committee partner Grant’s amazing bespoke business. That said, my friend, Josh Kercher was kind enough to dress me and my family for my wedding 6yrs ago and I’ve been going back to him ever since. He’s recently launched his own KERCHER collection, opened an incredible studio in River North, AND has teamed up with his wife to start making bespoke shoes as well. I love a power couple! His attention to detail and unique personal style really make for an amazing product and customer experience.
When I need to escape the noise and weather in Chicago, I love going to the Garfield Park conservatory to clear my head. The winters here can be so brutal and stepping into the fern room is like traveling to Hawaii. It’s beautiful, peaceful and helps you remember that colors actually exist! I love putting headphones on and just walking the space. As a parent of a very energetic 4yr old, it’s also an amazing way to get out of the house and get into nature. She loves it as much as I do.
Getting my hair right is a must so I always see my girl Bria Salvador at Smith & Davis Salon in Lincoln Park before any big gigs. She’s wildly talented, super funny and a total babe. The whole staff at Smith & Davis is incredible. I don’t think you’ll find a cooler, kinder, or better-looking crew in Chicago, they are highly recommended.
