Realtor.com took a comprehensive approach to the numbers, looking at the median listing price for homes in a given area, then comparing that to the median days on the market and number of viewers per property against the United States average.

Ranging from a small New York suburb in Rochester to the historic city of Johnson City, TN, these are the top ten zip codes for buyers and sellers in 2022.

The star of the list is the suburb of Brighton, located in upstate New York. The city has a suburban feel while sitting just miles from the industrial city of Rochester. Its rich history and affordability has made Brighton the premier place to buy a home in 2022.

Falling in second is Nashua, NH. This southern New Hampshire town is known for its parks, flowing rivers and electric nightlife. Worthington, OH, and Derry, NH, ranked third and fourth. If you’re looking for the small town feel but want access to a bigger city, these places are perfect for you.

Worthington is a small city in the middle of Ohio, just miles from Columbus. According to the 2020 census, Worthington’s population sits around 14,786. Derry, meanwhile, is located in southern New Hampshire just south of Manchester.

The top 10 rounds out with Windham, ME, Bethlehem, PA, Johnson City, TN, Hooksett, NH, North Attleboro, MA and Auburn, ME.

Based on the ranking, it looks like the east coast is the place to be.
