Of course the name Mercedes Benz carries a lot of gravitas in the luxury car world. But, in certain circles, the maker is just as famous for it line of Sprinter and Metris people movers/vans, which offer a luxurious customizable solution for fleet service, commercial transport...and recreation. Picking up on the popularity of camper vans, Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with Driverge Vehicle Innovations and Peace Vans to deliver the first Mercedes-branded recreation vehicle for the U.S. market: The Weekender.

“Pop-up campers are iconic and highly functional vehicles,” says Robert Veit, VP and Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz USA Vans. “We have known for a long time that this market need was unmet as evidenced by the high demand for aging existing camper vans still on the road. With the help of our partners, utilized the Metris [platform] to create a product suited to those who seek adventure, but also need a versatile and comfortable vehicle for their day-to-day lives.”

The Weekender includes a elevating roof with a sleeping area for two; USB ports for lights, charging and more; a multipurpose rear bench seat that opens up into a bed for two; swiveling front seats that allow your van to quickly turn into the perfect multipurpose lounge; and a second battery to power your devices, light up your nights or suit any of your other campsite needs. From $70,000
