The best thing about his career, says photographer Frank Ishman, is “telling a story though the lens of my camera, sometimes with very little control." Other times, he notes, he can actually lead the way in "rewriting a person's visual narrative.” Ishman’s career has taken him literally all over the world, photographing fashion and celebrities and everything in between. He traveled with Martin Scorsese, for instance, during the making of Shine a Light. Born in Connecticut and raised in Southern California, Ishman today lives in Lincoln Park, occasionally whipping up a stunning Palak Paneer from scratch. frankishman.com
