In hopes to reach a young, American consumer market for those who are interested in fine whiskeys, Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry of The Dead Rabbit have partnered up with Irish Whiskey experts to create the first-ever New York Irish Whiskey Festival.
Muldoon and McGarry have a deep background in Irish Whiskey, dubbing themselves as Irish Whiskey experts, they have written multiple award-winning books specifically on the subject. Most recently, they authored “From Barley to Blarney: A Whiskey Lover’s Guide to Ireland.”
The event will be kicking off on November 2 for all those who want to celebrate the fine dark elixir. Featuring brands such as classic favorites such as Bushmills, Tullamore DEW, and Kilbeggan as well as new brands such as The Sexton, Roe & Co., Dead Rabbit, Proper Twelve and Slane.
Just in time for the prime whiskey-drinking season, Muldoon and McGarry are hoping to bring their passion for fine Irish Whiskey to the American public. With their expertise backing the event, The New York Irish Whiskey Festival will feature a plethora of brands aimed to showcase the different whiskeys and highlight their versatilities from whiskey drams to craft cocktails.
General admission to the event is $75 and includes tastings of over 25 Irish Whiskeys, hors d'oeuvres, and a commemorative glass. For a more luxe whiskey event, VIP tickets are available for $125 and include all of the above plus access to the Dead Rabbit popup where they can taste three different specialty cocktails and indulge themselves on fresh oysters from Pier A Oyster House. nyirishwhiskeyfest.
