Energy abounds in the Dallas Arts District, which, throughout the years, has evolved into a utopian paradise for creative enthusiasts and patrons of the arts. As if we needed another excuse to lure you to town, allow us to introduce HALL Arts Hotel, nestled in the heart of all the action. The recently opened boutique hotel, developed by the HALL Group with chairman and founder Craig Hall at the helm, is nothing short of spectacular. What to expect? An expansive art collection peppered throughout the hotel, including works from Spencer Finch, Ben Skinner and James Welling. The true craftsmanship doesn’t stop there. Leading the charge in the kitchen is the inimitable Eric Dreyer, who will serve as executive chef for the featured culinary concept, Ellie’s. Hot off the heels of working as Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef, Dreyer also had a longtime stint as executive chef at Fearing’s at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. Now, he’s come back into the fold, and we couldn’t be more excited—and hungry. Ellie’s, which is named after Hall’s late mother, will offer a curated menu pulling from Dreyer’s time in California. Think Napa-inspired, farm-to-table-style cuisine, offering a mix of fresh and locally sourced ingredients. “Guests can expect a menu that is approachable, relatable and refined,” enthuses Dreyer. “I want guests to feel like they’ve been invited to Ellie’s home.” With his brilliant chops in the kitchen and friendly disposition, we have no doubt the dining experience will be one of a kind.
