Last August, New York’s largest residential brokerage firm, Douglas Elliman (elliman.com), announced its expansion into the Lone Star State in a joint venture with Houston-based Sudhoff Companies, a real estate sales and marketing company established in 2010. With Jacob Sudhoff serving as CEO, the newly formed Douglas Elliman Texas boasts 85% market share in the city’s new development market for condominiums with luxury projects like the Giorgetti Houston, The River Oaks, The Sophie at Bayou Bend, The Revere, The Hawthorne and The Wilshire, a full-service high-rise in River Oaks District where the 3,561-squarefoot penthouse is listed at $2.95 million. Through the partnership, the firm represents about $500 million in current new development, which also includes upscale single-family homes, such as a $1.825 million, five-bedroom new construction in Briargrove, and has $1.4 billion in the pipeline for the next year
