Downtown Doral Greets Canarias By CC Homes

Miamians have a reputation for being attracted to shiny new things, and now that Canarias by CC Homes, a magnificent community of townhouses and customizable single-family homes, has popped up in the heart of Downtown Doral, all eyes are looking west. Diana Ibarria, senior vice president of sales and marketing for CC Homes, says we have developer Armando Codina to thank for bringing the zip code out from its workday past. “When he first started developing this land, his dream was to have it become a downtown,” she explains. “He built class-A offices, shops, restaurants, schools, a city hall and parks.”

Then, together with business partner Jim Carr of CC Homes, Codina purchased a golf course and turned it into Canarias, an enclave of contemporary homes with an art and garden park. Ibarria says approximately 300 three-to-eight-bedroom single-family homes are still up for grabs, starting with the two-story Ibiza at around 2,900 square feet. All homes are delivered with porcelain tile throughout, Italkraft cabinets, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, 12-foot ceilings and a lengthy list of additional features. “I’m blown away by our rooftop terraces,” Ibarria adds.

Owners of the Maui, Capri and Bali models (from $1.1 million) can also get private pools and have their initiation fee waived should they become members at the nearby Trump National Doral Miami. Yet no one in the community misses out on a good time, since they all share a 40,000-square-foot clubhouse with an impressive pool, gym and indoor basketball court and track. In terms of lifestyle in the area, Canarias residents can walk to myriad dining destinations while accessing services ranging from banking and dry-cleaning to urgent care and massages.
