These gents have style in spades. A closer look reveals the personalities behind all that panache.

Zachary Shumway-Jones

“My favorite part of my job is exploring the world,” shares Zack Shumway-Jones, who is a true man on the move. As founder of The Seven, a luxury travel agency specializing in extraordinary experiences, Shumway-Jones strives for authenticity. An adventure enthusiast himself, he sets the bar high in helping people think outside the box when it comes to travel. Filled with a constant curiosity of other cultures, Shumway-Jones is often exploring different parts of the world, which is why he finds his style to be conducive to his lifestyle. Black, simple and machine washable are his three go-to wardrobe traits. While he may steer toward simplicity professionally, this handsome nomad is no stranger to playing around with fashion, and he has crafted an effortless look that can be sported throughout all walks of life.

If I could turn back time, I would tell myself to get over yourself.

The five things left on my bucket list are kids, six-pack abs, building a home, a midlife crisis and India.

The best advice I ever got was to never give up.

If I wasn’t in my current career, I would be a bartender in St. Barts.

The craziest thing I ever did was college.

My perfect day is spent outside.

My favorite place to shop for clothes in the city is James Perse.

My confidence is my strongest asset.

The greatest love of my life is my travel (after my husband of course, duh).

I am happiest when I check into an Aman hotel.

Mark Castro

Enthusiasm. This is the answer given by Mark Castro when asked about his strongest asset, and it could not be more fitting after spending five minutes with him. As the Dallas Museum of Art’s first Jorge Baldor curator of Latin American art, Castro moved to Dallas this past fall and has been nonstop ever since—especially as he and his husband, Kris, have two young daughters that keep them in check. The Rhode Island native spent the past 10 years on the curatorial team for the Philadelphia Museum of Art before making his way here, and just recently celebrated the milestone of curating his first-ever show for the DMA that debuted in March. Striving to help people have transcendent experiences with art, Castro aims to further expose the beauty of different worlds throughout history. His style lends itself to his “on-the-go” attitude—attributing a few articles of clothing that help him feel his most confident. A devout student of the arts, Castro is just getting started...

In three words I would describe my style as modern, practical and fun.

If I had three wishes, I would wish for eternal life, to fly and to be able to travel through time.

The craziest thing I ever did is not fit for publication.

My motto is it always pays to be nice.

The first item of clothing I bought for myself was a pair of oversized cargo pants (it was the ’90s!).

My style hero is Oscar Wilde.

In 10 years, I hope I still see life as an adventure.

My most trusted, treasured possession is my wedding ring.

The worst fashion faux pas is to wear socks with sandals—it’s just weird.

My biggest regret is not saying yes more.

My fashion splurge is ties; you can never have enough.

A man is not fully dressed without the right jacket.
