Quechee, Vermont
It’s only a 2-hour drive from Boston and is a hidden gem. It has the most covered bridges per capita and it’s family-friendly and just friendly overall. Vermont life is so much different than Boston life. People are happy, warm, welcoming and just live a relaxed pace of life, which is a welcome reprieve after a busy work week.

As it's only a 2.5-hour flight from Boston this has been our second home for many years. The wintertime weather is 75 and sunny almost every day, perfect for swimming, tennis, or getting into your car without a jacket. The restaurant scene also rivals any major city, you know when you go to a restaurant and see four iron chefs sitting in the table next to yours that it must be good.

If you need snow and want real powder, then you gotta go out West. You won’t want to return to New England skiing on sheets of ice after experiencing the west. Direct flight to Salt Lake City from Boston and an hour drive to the mountain. You had me at outdoor heated pools and hot tubs.
