Tennis legend Andre Agassi and world class jumper Georgina Bloomberg were among the equestrian crowd at the recent Longines Global Champions event on Governor’s Island in New York. The Championship Tour spans three continents across 19 international events and takes in the world's great cities including Paris, Monaco, Madrid, Miami Beach, Shanghai, Rome, St. Tropez, and Doha, all timed by Official Timekeeper and Title Partner, Longines. The New York event marked the official end of the Championship Tour season.

British rider Ben Maher, riding Explosion W, was named winner of the 2019 series, which saw Belgium’s Pieter Devos and Germany’s Daniel Deusser securing second and third places, respectively. All three were presented with timepieces by Longines VP Charles Villoz and brand ambassador Agassi.
Villoz said: “As a Longines Ambassador of Elegance for over 10 years, Andre Agassi typifies the combination of elegance of character, values, precision, and sporting excellence that have defined Longines as a Swiss watchmaker for over 185 years.”
Local fans cheered on the New York Empire team, led by Georgina Bloomberg. “It is incredibly special to have the best of the best here,” she said. “This city deserves a great horse show and we are bringing one of the greatest shows, the best riders, and the best prize money.”
