Anderson Smith is a busy man: The former college athlete and new dad, currently runs one of the most dynamic commercial real estate firms in the city. “As a young firm, we’ve been tremendously fortunate with our success,” says the native Texan, who co-founded Capital Retail Properties in 2011. “We found a niche in our industry and have created great relationships along the way—often over beers and baseball games.” In addition to larger suburban projects, Smith’s firm has helped reshape The Heights—where he and his wife live—with projects including Michael Hsu-designed Market at Houston Heights, which is set to open later this year. We dial him up for his Houston musts.
