Let's get into my perfect day in the life here in Philly. For the least amount of real-life restrictions possible, we're going to assume this day is a Saturday during the offseason-- Ha!

Ideally, I would be up early enough (let's call it 6:30 a.m.) to catch the sunrise from my rooftop––oh and somehow a hot tub magically appears so I get in that while my wife is doing yoga.

We both stay up there for about 45 minutes and then go downstairs to have breakfast afterward (most likely pancakes and a strawberry banana smoothie).

After that, I'm passing out for at least an hour (or three) on the couch, because, the itis.

So now it's around 11 a.m. and I'm waking up hungry again. We decide to go to The Goodspoon for some fire soup and sandwiches. After smashing that, we decide to walk to get some coffee in the neighborhood so I don't fall victim to the itis twice in one day.

There's a Jinxed Variety Store on the way to the cafe and we can't help but stop in and do some thrifting just in case some new goods came in since I was last there. After finding the perfect vintage rug/coffee table combo that's been eluding us, we finally make our way over to One Shot cafe around 2 p.m.

As I'm ordering my almond milk cortado with a splash of hazelnut, I hear a rowdy group of guys in the corner, and it turns out to be some teammates! We sit down with them and at some point between the banter they inform me that they're playing some pickup soccer in a little bit in the park right next to my apartment–how convenient this perfect day is! I say "bet, I'm with it" and head back to my apartment to get ready for the 4:00 runs.

I pull up around 4:15, cuz there's no fines for showing up late to pickup soccer. After some good runs in the park, I head back home to chill out and water all 46 of our plants before we go out to eat.

Chelsea and I decide to meet up with some friends at Double Knot for some food and drinks around 9 p.m. While we're there, our friends tell us that tonight is the monthly Friends and Fam party at Kung Fu Necktie (they moved it back for the night*)–to which I reply "well let's turn up then!"

After having a few more Japanese Old Fashioneds, we all make our way to the sweatbox that is Kung Fu and Matthew Law is playing all the jams.

We dance the night away while I document all of it on a 35mm point and shoot camera til about 1:00 a.m. because we're getting old and can't be shutting the club down like that. After talking me out of hosting the after-party at our apartment, Chelsea falls asleep in the Lyft ride home. We make it back to the house at 1:30.

I immediately make some popcorn on the stove, put on the latest episode of Soulection Radio and reflect on the day before we get ready to knock out. I must say, today was a good day.
