Miami - Anchor and TV journalist for WPLG South Florida ABC
Miami native Louis Aguirre is no stranger to the cameras. In fact, he’s the man most turn to in Miami for the latest entertainment news. The TV anchor and philanthropist loves traveling too, and has even called Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., home at one point or another. In his spare time, he works with a plethora of advocacy groups—Humane Society & Best Friends, animal-focused organization, is one that’s closest to his heart.
I’m the real deal. Born & raised in Miami.
I live in the greatest city in the world: Miami Beach.
Basketball and tennis.
India and Antarctica.
Pizza and a good bottle of red.
Tocino de Cielo.
Crema Catalan (Guess who just came back from Spain?).
Pancakes (I make the best.)
Dinner at Le Bernardin is great every single time. Eric Ripert is a god. Too many incredible dishes to list them all, but the lobster pancake still lingers. (Are you sensing a theme?)
Matt, my partner. Reilly, my rescue lab mix. Chief, my rescue hearing impaired Dalmatian.
The Carol Burnett Show.
It’s a Wonderful Life, Babette’s Feast, Gone with the Wind, Les Intouchables.
Earth Wind & Fire, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac.
Beyoncé’s Lemonade Tour stop at Dodger Stadium and Donna Summer at Radio City Music Hall.
The one my family gave me for my 40th birthday.
Wine. Vino. Vin.
Tequila. Always tequila.
Annick Goutal Eau D’Hadrien. I’ve been wearing it for 30 years and never stray.
So I’m loving the Spanish reds right now. Vega Sicilia, Pesquera, but love a good Oregon Pinot, French Burgundy and an Amarone.
Sancerre, Pouilly Fuisse, Puligny de Montrachet.
Crescent Beach at Compass Cay in the Exumas. The pink sand beach on Harbour island. Any beach where I can swim in the ocean with my pups.
I try not to do errands on Saturdays. Weekends I’m on power save mode.
At the beach with the dogs.
I get to tell stories for a living and sometimes they can really make a difference.
I’m an anchor and TV journalist for WPLG South Florida’s ABC station. It’s there where my broadcast career really took off in 1990. I’m now back 27 years later in a true full circle moment after working on three nationally syndicated shows, two networks and some guest spots on some really fun TV shows. It’s been a wild ride that has taken me around the world. I’ve called Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Miami home.
I’m a big animal advocate and over the years have worked with the Humane Society & Best Friends. I lend my voice and platform to many charities especially those that promote the arts and advocate for children.
I’ve been happily partnered for 20 years now with Miami Interior designer Matthew Macdonald. We share our home in Miami Beach with two rescues Reilly and Chief.
