The well-heeled golfer able to put down $30,000 a year for a club membership doesn’t look to play just locally. So, players from around the world able to invest that fee can sign up to play the courses at Desert Mountain – the elite private community tucked in the Phoenix Mountain Range near Scottsdale, Arizona.

The destination’s 2,000 or so golf member residents get access to the property’s seven courses — six of which were designed by Jack Nicklaus: Renegade, Cochise, Apache, Geronimo, Chiricahua and Outlaw. The seventh — the aptly named, brand new, 18-hole, par 3 SEVEN – opened this year with a new casual clubhouse dining experience.

The Desert Mountain Equity Golf Membership allows non-residents the same permission to play. The price fluctuates somewhat with the real estate market and other factors, but remains in mid-five figure range. About 2000 golf members call Desert Mountain home, but, with the non-resident membership, paid-up players receive all of the perks granted to locals on each course. desertmountain.com/golf
